Mayor Kimberly Horton

Mayor Kimberly HortonAs Mayor of Absecon, and a lifelong resident - I am proud to introduce to you the hidden gem of Atlantic County. Absecon is a scenic historic city located in southern New Jersey and was named for the Absegami tribe of Native Americans. Originally a town in 1872, Absecon incorporated in 1902. Our community is located 4 miles from the Atlantic City beaches, casino activities, and easy travel access to Philadelphia and other major east coast cities. Absecon, in part, offers something for everyone: parks, recreational sports, wildlife, boating, fishing and crabbing opportunities, restaurants, shopping, an active historical society and a highly recognized school system.

I hope everyone will take advantage of our multi-layered civic offerings. Our goal is to provide useful information about our city. Our employees and volunteers are dedicated to provide the best service to our residents and visitors. With over 8,000 residents, our governing body and administration remains committed to maintaining these important services. Please use this website as an active resource to learn more about the City of Absecon.

Open office hours are available on non-holiday Wednesdays from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
